MESA Policies

ATTENDEE POLICIES

Zoom Requirements
To participate in the course via Zoom, please ensure you have the following:

  • A strong internet connection
  • A working webcam and microphone
  • A compatible device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone)

We kindly ask that you join a few minutes early to get settled, so we can begin the course on time.

Attendance and Technology Policies

  • Attendees must remain seated and face the camera with their full face clearly visible throughout the session. Engaging in unrelated activities—such as talking to others, moving around, driving, riding in a car or working on other tasks—is not permitted during class.
  • All required technology must be functioning to the satisfaction of the instructor within 10 minutes of the class start time. If this requirement is not met, regardless of the reason (including technical difficulties), the attendee will be asked to reschedule.
  • Attendees are allowed up to three (3) technology-related issues. Upon reaching this limit, the attendee will be required to retake the entire course at a later time.
  • If you have experienced technical issues (e.g., entering and exiting the class), the Zoom attendance record will be reviewed to verify that the required attendance time has been met. You will be notified if a review of your attendance is initiated.
  • Adequate lighting is expected from all attendees. If an attendee’s face cannot be clearly recognized, they will not be allowed to participate in the course. All attendees must display their full name and licensee number in their Zoom window.
  • If you are removed from a course by the instructor, you will either receive a refund or be invited to enroll in another course. If invited, you must complete the new course in its entirety.
  • No more than two participants per camera are allowed without prior permission. MESA REI reserves the right to record all courses.
  • If the instructor experiences an internet outage, please be patient and wait for further updates. Do not call the office. If we are able to resume, we will do so as soon as possible.
  • If the outage continues beyond 15 minutes, we will send an email with further instructions to all attendees.
  • If you (the attendee) experience an internet outage, please switch to your phone to continue the course, if possible.

MESA REI reserves the right to dismiss any attendee who fails to comply with the following guidelines:

  • All students must print or download the course materials prior to the start of class. Failure to do so may result in dismissal.
  • Recording of Zoom meetings is strictly prohibited without prior written permission.

By attending, participants agree to adhere to these requirements.

Late Arrival Policy
If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, you will not be permitted to join the class. For in-person classes, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for individuals who have traveled from outside the area.

Attendance Requirement for Continuing Education Credit
Attendees are required to be present for a minimum of 50 minutes of each instructional hour. If an attendee misses more than 20 minutes of the course in total, the course must be rescheduled. Failure to meet this attendance requirement may result in the attendee not receiving continuing education credit.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • Cancellations: Registrations may be refunded if cancellation is made prior to the class start time.
  • Transfers: You may transfer to another course before the original class begins. If the new course has a different fee, you will either be charged the additional amount or receive a refund for the difference.

  • Limit on Reschedules: A maximum of three (3) reschedules will be permitted per registration.
